Kini was wandering down the road. It was her day off from the shop beause no one else was schedualed to come in today. She was extremely happy that she had some alone time. She also wished that she could talk to someone though.

Ashton was cold, his casual clothing wasn't exactly the thickest. He crossed his arms to try and stay warm. As he was walking, he forgot the way to the market, which he must hurry to, so he can get everything on the list: A large ham, fine wine, squash, tomatoes, potatoes, butter, milk, rosemary spice, and so much more! He was getting frantic. He looked from side to side, trying to remember where to go. He came across he judged to be a 16 year old girl with gorgeous brown hair. "Miss? I beg your pardon, but could you please tell me the way to the market? I must hurry, before everyone back at the palace is angry with me. That'll be strike two, I already broke the King's fine China. After that, I'm either sent to be hung or thrown on the streets." Ashton was getting flustered, and tears were forming very carefully in his fierce eyes.

Kini saw the trouble that the young boy was in. She glanced at his list. "Here let me go with you. I can help you carry all of this." She grabbed his arm. "Come on! The market is this way. I'm Kini by the way." she said cheerily. She really wanted to help this young man.

Ashton saw that this woman would help him, and he flinched a bit as she grabbed him by the arm. He was used to being hit a lot, and was made timid. But, he accepted this girl would help him, and he followed her lead. He looked up and saw the ambition in her eyes as they ran.

Kini had wondered slightly if the young boy would be able to keep up. She knew that he was skinny for his age but she thought that he would have been able to. She felt him flinch when she grabbed his arm and she almost pulled away but decided against it. She wished to be friends with the boy. He seemed nice! "Just a little farther." she said cheerily. They would have to walk soon. More and more people were appearing on the streets.

Ashton nodded in approval. People were beggining to crowd the streets. The market place was just ahead, and the sun was a georgous orange against the watery blue skies. Somebody on the street tripped him by accident and he fell square on his chest. He shook his head and stood up brushing off, and began laughing.

"Hey! Watch it!" Kini called to the person who had tripped her new friend. She was about to bend and help him up but he had already succeeded. Ashton began laughing. At first Kini was confused, as was the man who had tripped Ashton. Then, slowly, Kini found the situation funny as well. She began laughing. The man who had tripped Ashton shook his head and walked away. Still laghing, Kini managed to stumble out, "Wh-Why are w-we laughing?"

Ashton laughed even harder when Kini began to laugh as well, and continued his rambunctious lauging as the man who tripped him looked at him awkwardly. Laughing, he tried to say, " I'm not real-really sure! I just thought it was funny!" Ashton tried to calm down. It was hard, but he managed to keep from bursting out. He took out his list, and looked around for the foods he needed.

Kini slowly managed to calm her breathing. She let out a soft 'hoo' as she finally calmed herself. "So," she said as Ashton looked at his list. "What do we need again?" She knew that her new friend was in a hurry. She didn't want him to be in trouble for being out to long. Kini looked at the sky. The sun was a little past its highest height. She waited patiently as Ashton read his list.

Ashton eventually calmed down. "Hmm... Wow! All of this stuff is quite expensive. Then again, it is the King's orders. So, we need a ham, fine wine, squash, tomatoes, potatoes, butter, milk, rosemary spice, and... I think that's it. I have no clue what they plan on making in the kitchen," Ashton was never really keen on the King's taste. He liked things Ashton had never even heard of before he became a servant.

"Ham, win, squash..." Kini quietly repeated to herself. "Wow." she said once he had finished. "That's a long list. Let's start looking!" She grabbed his hand and started running toward the market.

Ashton nodded at Kakalina's comment, and taken off guard when she grabbed his hand. He didn't really know where to start, because this was only his second or third time going to the market. It was a priveledge, and he was trusted not to fail. Suddenly, the name Kini rang out in his mind. Why did he remember hearing the sevants say something about a "kini Ridican"? He decided to just shrug it off, and continued to follow her.

Kini led Ashton up to the butcher's kiosk. "Hello?" she called. While she waited for the butcher to show up she turned to Ashton "You know, I totally forgot what was on the list after ham! I would ask you to repeat it but I'd most likely forget it again. Let's take this one thing at a time." She smiled at him.
